How Etsy seller fees are calculated

A typical US Etsy Payments order can include a listing fee, transaction fee, and payment processing fee. Offsite Ads and currency conversion apply only in specific situations.

Transaction fee = (item + shipping + gift wrap) × 6.5%US processing fee = (order total including tax) × 3% + $0.25Estimated payout = seller revenue − all selected Etsy feesNet profit = estimated payout − item and shipping costs

Sales tax uses a different fee base

The 6.5% transaction fee excludes sales tax, while the US Etsy Payments processing percentage applies to the total payment, including tax. This calculator keeps those bases separate.

Optional fees are not defaults

Offsite Ads is included only when the order was attributed to an eligible ad. When Etsy converts between the listing and payment-account currencies, enter the conversion sale amount shown by Etsy rather than inferring it from the buyer's display currency.

Offsite Ads can attribute orders placed within 30 days of an ad click. Once the $10,000 threshold is reached in any consecutive 365-day period, the 12% rate and mandatory participation continue for the shop's lifetime; a last click on an Etsy Ad can change attribution.
